I think I know what you mean.

I’m learning not to be so “serious” all the time, but the other extreme ain’t so great, either: people who don’t take anything seriously.

I’ve gone through some tough shit all myself, despite the fact that I had some so-called good friends, at those times. Of course, sometimes people joke because they don’t know what else to say or do, but when it’s a trend or it’s not followed-up by expressions of concern, you can end up feeling worse than you did before.

Anyway, I’m sad to say that this has greatly reduced my expectations of friendship (aka associations).

It took me a minute to find the comment link and I’m NOT hungover.

I know what you mean about the personal life becoming comedy to some. I hate that - and cut those poisonous people out of my life.
