what are you waiting for?

Procrastinator.

Why are you waiting until next year to make that change or make “it” happen? Next year is really just something that happens overnight. The moment 11:59 turns to midnight. What miraculous thing is going to happen in that one minute, that can’t happen today?? Are you gonna get some random surge of motivation? Maybe you will, but what’s stopping you from getting that surge at this moment?

I know, its that whole idea, the spirit of the new year, and wiping the slate clean. But why wait?? Wipe it down now.

Don’t get lost in the illusion of the new year, because the new you doesn’t have to wait until then.

You know I agree as we discussed this already. I believe that the new year gives us the inspiration, but preparation should begin asap. I think it just gives folks “a few more days” to practice bad habits or whatever. In actuality, it just reinforces those things that much more, and the likelihood of change becomes more and more slim. I’m already gettin it crackin over here on a few fronts. Some things/people definitely will not be carried over into 2008. I can say that cuz I’ve deaded them in ‘07! Great post!

Get out of my head! That’s all that’s been on my mind this week. The time is NOW. Hell, who says you’ll live to see 12:00.

You know how I do those 100 day challenges, we started a year long one this week because we too thought that waiting for Jan 1 is for suckas!

SO true. I very rarely make new years resolutions because, while I understand the rationale, I think you should be prepared to make any changes you see fit as neccessary, not when a certain time of year rolls around. I think the new years resolution is an excuse most times for people to buy time not to do what they need to do but don’t truly wanna do.

This reminds me of that Nutrisystem commercial with Valerie Bertinelli when she’s all excited about not having to have a new years resolution to lose weight - because she already lost all the weight in 2007. And I kick myself for not sticking to WW and getting to goal this year. It’s so reachable, yet I’m too lazy to do it. Lame!
