The Real World Goes Black

Yo, there will be two new roommates joining this season of MTV’s “The Real World”.
And they’re both Black.
Yup, you read me right.
That makes 4 black people in the house (out of 7), and 5 on the show if you count one of the original roommates who got kicked off.
What’s goin’ on over at MTV?
Its almost like Dave Chappelle’s skit come true! LOL. The new dynamic in the house is gonna be very interesting to watch.
This is so my favorite season already!
Personally, I think everyone on the show is so immature…especially Greg who got kicked off. The only person who was semi real was Joey…but that’s because of his drug abuse and alcoholism. I hope these new people bring something new to the table…
Without having ever watched the Real Life…why the stereotype? Just because their skin might be a certain colour doesn’t mean that their personality is automatically going to be like their racial stereotype. Everyone is an individual.
Think of it in terms of simply two new people entering the house, not two new BLACK people.

You mentioned me stereotyping the new roommates, but I don’t see where I did that. Perhaps my Dave Chappelle comparison was taken out of context. I said its “almost” like the skit, as I simply meant that there will be a majority of black roommates in the house……a first for the show. As a black person who has watched the show since its inception, I find this development pretty interesting, and quite refreshing. I wasn’t suggesting anything about how the new roommates will behave. But I’m glad you are attempting to erase the color lines. That’s quite refreshing as well.

Yeah, I mean, this is the most they’ve ever had since back to new york/las vegas…which were the best two seasons of the Real World…Honestly, I loved Greg on the show, because he was the only normal cat there…he was honest. It’s like, “Yo, I hate this job…I’m gonna kick it…” If that isn’t a n#%%@ response, I don’t know what is…
I’m really into this season so far too - it’s crazy! I would have been outta there when that one guy lost it and started yelling and punching walls. Anyway cool blog! I dig your taste
um…what kind of advertising? okay. anyway, I love this season too. I’m so addicted and have been trying to get my friends to watch but they won’t since real world has been wack for so long. My only problem with it is that the original real world was an opportunity for the american public to interact with people who they would never in real life. it was an opportunity for people to humanize and get to know people of different races, backgrounds, sexual orientations, etc. without blind sided judgement and in a way that helped them identify with people. Pedro allowed people not to be so homophobic and to discuss HIV and to show that gay people have just as normal relationships. The first NY showed that no matter what race we are, we are all struggling and sort of alike. It was like that till like Seattle when it started going down, but after vegas, it took a turn for the worst. This year is decent though.
i can’t believe there will be so many black people on there. I couldn’t stand greg’s immature ass. I’m glad he got kicked off. But i like that even though bre is a black stripper from philly, she’s not really “ghetto” and that none of the black people there were really stereotypical. in fact, greg act more like a white frat boy in my opinion. But how stupid was he to be mad at Will when his girl was the one giving Will head in that room. ahh…men are so stupid! just like women! lol.
