La Lizzle Fo Shizzle Dizzle

Had a good time with LGB in L.A. for Thanksgiving (Thank you Girl! I am thankful for you, indeed!). I rediscovered my hometown, and I can see myself moving back…at some point…when I’m ready to settle down. I honestly don’t see myself “settling down” in NYC. (Its a wonder I can see myself settling down at all, lol.) But I refuse to succumb to these weather conditions for the rest of my life. Its just unnatural.

And the parking is terrible! NYC is no place for a car, unless you’re in far away Queens or Long Island. But who wants to be anywhere but Manhattan? And how can you settle down without a car? Or at least car service. (is that the L.A. in me?) Keep it real. If I could afford it, I’d be in Manhattan…with car service and/or cab fare. But, I can’t. (Hmm, but if I/we could…I might could settle down in Manhattan…)

Anyway, if I ever get to the point where I want to permanently incorporate another person’s life into mine (and vice versa, I suppose)……I’d probably move back to L.A. to do it. 2pac said it best… “To Live and Die in L.A., its the place to be.”

Back to my trip. We hit up Paramount, Bellflower, Cerritos, L.A., Beverly Hills, Carson, Hollywood, Hermosa Beach, Inglewood…and probably would’ve done more if we could, lol. That’s the cool part about GREATER L.A. There are so many good places to be…places to go…its hard to pick just one. And you can hit ‘em all up in a day, if you wanted to, without a problem (no bridges, no tunnels, no tolls! the “freeway” is truly free). I do love that about L.A. I like that its spread out, you can see more than just buildings, and you can seriously travel within one metropolis. (Manhattan has a similar concept…just less real estate…and WAY more expensive).

Had the BEST Thanksgiving grub…multiple times! (leftovers are the best) Thanks Moms! Ran into some old friends from back in the day…multiple times, lol. And managed to avoid running into anyone I did NOT want/need to see. Victory!

But I can tell, I’d be on some ol’ other isht if I moved back. While I “know” many people in L.A., I really only keep up with 2 (outside of Facebook), which opens the door for new possibilities in an old town. Plus…I can afford to live on my own now! Ha! I can live anywhere I want in L.A. (didn’t have that luxury before). Hmmm……

The “man” potential in L.A. still seems a little weak to me, but at least they have cars. (Huge leg up on NY menfolk!)

P.S. We learned that Snoop Dogg is lending his voice to GPS. Can you imagine Snoop Dogg giving you directions?

“Make a reezy right heezy, my neezy.”

Happy (belated) Thanksgiving!

LOL. I love it. I’m so glad that I finally got to return the favor and take you a few places around the place you used to call home. I had a wonderful time with you (as always) and the fam was overjoyed that you were here and even thought to spend your holiday with us. I can’t wait to do it again! *hugs*

I picked up/dropped off a friend from the airport Friday. She also said that she could see herself living in LA. She thought her potential of finding a mate would be greater. I chose not to tell her that the grass does always seem greener.
