Its been awhile since I told a story. Its been even longer since I told a GOOD story. So…this shouldn’t be any different.

Tale One:

A friend of mine from CA was in town for the week. I hadn’t seen him in almost 10 years, so I was determined to get together before he left. It took a little back and forth, but Thursday night we got a chance to hang out. We found ourselves at Karma Lounge, smokin’ hookah and enjoying a brew. Aside from living a bit of life…nothing’s really changed. We had a great time, and it was nice to get in touch with a good friend. He wants to move here, and I hope he does (before I leave). I need some more connects. Especially since…

Tale Two:

The next night, I got stood up.

I went to a Hip Hop Karaoke Show. Its kind of a big deal out here. I invited a guy I met through a mutual friend, and he agreed to come out. He’s a young guy…22 if you can believe it. I don’t know why I can’t seem to meet anyone over the age of 25 out here, but…whatever.

It wasn’t “like that” anyway. He was just a fun guy, that I thought would enjoy the show. But I’ll admit, I was looking forward to hanging out with him. This would’ve been the first time we got together without our mutual friend present (who couldn’t attend).

Long story short…the guy didn’t make it to the show. I guess I wasn’t “stood up” technically, since he told me that he probably wouldn’t make it…albeit he said it as I was walking out the door to catch the train. Something about having to work late, and he tried to come by afterwards, but got lost and arrived long after the show was already over (and I was already gone).

*Kanye shrug*

Eh, I was slightly disappointed. I mean, it wasn’t like I spent the whole night checking my phone or anything……


……but it would’ve been nice if he had been able to keep the commitment.
And now I know that he can’t.
