Random Guy Sends Me a Friend Request on Facebook
I get these every so often from (guy) friends of friends, who aren’t really my friends - meaning, I don’t know enough about them and their everyday life that I’d want their friends to be my friends - but, we do know each other, so we’re friends on Facebook.
Usually, I just ignore the friend request. Especially, if they don’t at least send a message stating their business - like, why they’re sending a stranger this friend request.
Now, if they’re really attractive or interesting on paper screen, then I might send them a message to find out if perhaps we met and I’d forgotten, or to find out a little more about them in general. That’s happened all of……eh, NEVER, give or take a few.
But this friend request is one I feel like I should almost follow-up on. Dude reads really great on his page, but then again, how hard is that to do?
So I moved on to his photos. Dude is aight, BUT……(there’s always a but)…
- He looks to be on the shorter side of tall, and……
- ……HE HAS A CURL. (Lord, help me)
Now……dude seems to have a multi-cultural background (speaks spanish, something about going to Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic), so maybe its a natural curl. But ummm……it still looks wrong. Ok, I just read a comment that says he’s no longer rockin the curl, as he’s ended that “VAIN” stage in his life. Thank God.
Ok, so if you’re still reading at this point, you probably realize that its possible I’m reading too deep into a simple friend request.
The guy is probably just looking to network with folks in NY. I’m sure he’s not tryna be my boo (yet).
But the thing that prompted me to even post about it, was the fact that my stomach turned at the thought of beginning the process of getting boo’d up with someone.
Mentally, I turned and ran the other direction from e-sponding to this guy, due to the chance that he might wanna “get to knooow me”.
How silly and narcissistic is that??
So now that I’ve admitted my silliness to the world and gotten over myself, I’ll just send him a message to see what he wants.

I Miss My NY Homegirl
Life has been pretty dull since she left. I’ve been pretty dull since she left. This blog has been pretty dull since she left.
No one to shop with, eat with, drink with, party with, chillax with, talk mess with……
……NY isn’t as fun without her.
*sigh*

Riding for Others……
……only for them to drop out on you.
Ain’t that a bitch?
Folks come to you, wantin you to step in and have their back on something, got you all pumped up, then their punk ass later decides “it wasn’t that serious”, and steps down. Meanwhile, you’ve already gone above and beyond for this person……for no damn reason.
Is that just a casualty of friendship?
Naw pimpin, lol. I am SO cool on being the strong arm. Don’t call me for backup, cuz I’mma tell you to “let it go, and just walk away”.
Why is it so hard to walk away?

Friends…How Many of Us Have Them?
I don’t know bout yall, but I have THE best friends ever ever ever. All 5 of ‘em, lol. Naw, but for real, the people I call “friend”, those who I’ve remained close to amidst our bi-coastal relationship, are out of this world.
I need to shout out my bestest friend from the HIGH SCHOOL days. We’re going on 10 years…whew! The reason we’ve sustained our friendship for so long, is because we’re the same in that we not only talk about it, but we BE’S about it. She’s accomplished something MAJOR…something she’s been talking about and planning for the last couple of years. I don’t know who all reads this blog, so I’m not gonna put ALL her biz in the streets, but my girl tackled item #1 on her list of things to do before age 30, and she did it on her own. I’m SO proud! And being able to call her “friend” REALLY makes me look good, lol. *smile* Love ya girl!
I just had a visit from my bestest friend from college and beyond! We’re kindred spirits, for real. She FINALLY made it out here to NY to see why I refuse to go home, lol. It was SO wonderful having her here, just like the old days. Even wrecked a BBQ for nostalgia sake…yet we really didn’t even do that much, lol. I was spoiled for all of a week, and now that she’s gone……I don’t wanna go back to hangin’ with the same folks I been chillin’ with in her absence. Its just NOT the same. *sigh* I miss you girl!
I just wanted to take a moment to highlight my “team”, my girls. The ones who make me a better person, just by them being around.
They are my gifts from God, and I’m am SO blessed to know them!
*HUGS*
